Knowledge management

The effective distribution of knowledge within an organisation can lead to improved performance, innovation and general awareness.

BMT have worked with research organisations and have successfully implemented research and capability management solutions to promote reuse, perform balance of investment, and to plan for future developments.

Out solutions enable users to maintain knowledge data, share this securely, and exploit the research and technolgies of other organisations or areas.

We promote the use of web-based systems for knowledge sharing and management, and can host these systems both on the internet and secure networks such as the Restricted LAN Interconnect (RLI) for defence related research.

Our knowledge management systems contain rich content enabling users to visualise the relationships between research areas, possible solutions and future technologies.

Dstl engaged BMT to develop a knowledge management and road mapping web environment for use across the Equipment Capability Community in the MoD. The resulting application has demonstrated the expertise and professionalism of the BMT staff as they have developed a very useful IT solution against a background of constant change and hence very fluid requirements. As the technical lead for this project I would like to thank all involved at BMT for a job well done.
